Caleb was our resident licker. First the pesto...
...then the whipped cream.
Of course we had awesome food...we had this pasta dish, which my mom covered with (perhaps a few too many--but it is my mom after all!) chive flowers. Sliced tenderloin topped with fresh pesto, stuffed zucchini boats and a big salad. It was all delicious!
While the rest of us were finishing dinner, Caleb wrapped himself in the floor rug and relaxed on the hearth. (And I wonder how he gets so dirty!)

We went outside on the deck for dessert, a super yummy cherry tart and nice, strong espresso.Caleb scarfed his dessert down and then climbed up into his Fafa's lap and enjoyed a second dessert as he pilfered off his grandpa.
Wow! That is such an adorable purse, La. Whoever gave you that has AWESOME taste!
Nonna brought out some old blankets and pillows for the kids, and somehow Maddie and Caleb got the idea that they were spending the night out on the deck. It was pretty cute.
