Everyone is cleaning up, taking down decorations, Christmas trees are out on the curbs...but over here at our house Christmas is continuing. For one, since my parents are still in CA with Jess, we still haven't celebrated Christmas with them! We will celebrate Christmas with my parents and La in about a week.
But Christmas continued over here because Caleb's Big Gift didn't arrive until several days after Christmas!! That was disappointing, especially since it was supposed to have arrived with time to spare.
What that meant was that we had Christmas Morning all over again--pretty rough, huh? :) The package arrived late at night after the kids were in bed. It really felt just like Christmas again! Braden opened the box and assembled the set while I watched. We tried them out to make sure they sounded good. Then we placed it under the Christmas tree, covered with a sheet, anticipating Caleb's reaction in the morning.

First thing in the morning, we found him standing outside his room at the railing that overlooks down into our dining room, silent and staring down. We like to have fun with our kids.
"Caleb, what are you looking at?"
"That fing down dere." "What thing?"
"That fing wif the sheet oveh it." "Oh, wow, there is something there! What is that?!"
"I fink it is g'dwums... ... ...c'I go downstayuhs?"And so down we all went. Braden armed with the kodak and me with the nikon. I didn't quite catch it, but this is Caleb starting to jump after pulling the sheet off.

He jumped right on and started playing.

After playing on his drums for a bit he asked me,
"Are dese REAL g'dwums?"
The drums have since journeyed to the basement where they now live, receiving near daily visits from Caleb. Our boy has been drumming constantly
for about a year and a half now. I just don't think it's going to end anytime too soon.
