Caleb got to start his birthday celebrations today with a special trip with Daddy to a small adventure park complete with bumper boats, go-carts and an arcade. Caleb does not always do well with surprises (particularly new experiences) so we were debating when and if to tell him in advance. We decided to tell him yesterday. Braden showed him some pictures online, and he got pretty excited. This morning he woke up and the first thing out of his mouth was,
"Is the park open yet?!"
He was so excited about his special trip with Daddy. It's so cute when you can tell that your little boy feels important and manly. He
strapped on The Belt this morning, ready for adventure.
We--ahem--did tell him that it would be better if he took his belt off once they arrived at the park--wouldn't want it to catch on the go-carts or bumper boats or anything.
Hasn't Caleb gotten tall? I am so enjoying watching him grow up, mature, change. I'm seeing glimmers of the man he will, Lord-willing, one day become. Each new season has its particular challenges but also very unique joys. Caleb at 4 years old has been one of my favorite seasons as a mom so far, but who knows, maybe 5 years old will top that. :)
