Recently, my parents took Maddie and Caleb to ride on an old train. 
While they got to see a steam engine...
...they actually rode on an old diesel train.
The long ride took them through beautiful country and mountains...

...and with the fall leaves beginning to turn, there was some lovely color!
They got to stop in a little town for lunch.

And then they got back on the train and journeyed home.
Despite it being a long drive to get to and from the train station plus two long train rides, both kids loved the whole experience and had a great time.
