ireland, part one

Celtic Crosses.

We have begun Maddie's unit on Ireland. Our first big project was crafting a salt dough Celtic cross.While Maddie and I worked on the cross, Caleb kept busy making a dinosaur...

...with sharp teeth, of course.

Back to Maddie's cross...in the center is a 'trinity knot,' representing The Trinity: the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The circle around the center of the cross represents the eternity of God.
Maddie added a few more decorations of her own, grouping them in threes as was common (again, references to the trinity).
