This week we read about the earth, Queen Esther, electricity, England, Egypt, the eye and animal eggs...which by the way, I found another wonderful book: An Egg Is Quiet by Dianna Aston and Sylvia Long. It has the most beautiful and interesting watercolor illustrations with just enough science for little ones to learn without being overwhelmed with too much detail. I wish there were more books like this that combined science with art.
We also made our E book, learned an E bible verse, learned about the sounds E makes (and that sometimes it does NOT make a sound), practiced forming E and e, made a list of E words, learned about north-south-east-west, and practiced our color words and family names flashcards.
Our special project was to dye some eggs, and it being fall, we chose some gorgeous fall colors! (The trick? Use brown eggs.)
