At 14 months, Maisie:
-is taking one or two naps a day. Still hasn't fully dropped her morning nap.
-sleeps about 7pm-7am, give or take a bit.
-says Mama, Dada, baba (passy), Bubby, PopPop, hi, bye-bye, oo/oo-oo (for look, there it is, I want it...), dat (I want that), bah (ball), tickee (thank you), uh-oh, ah-done!
-LOVES phones. So much so that now every time I answer the phone she hangs onto my legs and cries the entire time because she wants the phone. It makes phone conversations just a little difficult right now! I think that's our next bit of training to work on.
-will say "hi" to you about 10 times in a row.
-loves to wave "hi", "bye", and "night-night".
-points to anything and everything she wants and fusses for it when she doesn't know the word...which is most things right now, so we're working on "please" instead of yelling.
-clenches her little fists together, grunts loudly and turns slightly red in the face when she's really exasperated.
-loves to tear paper and tissues to shreds, if she can get ahold of any.
-has cut her first molar, top left!
-definitely knows what "no touch" means, and mostly obeys it
-knows what "no eat, give it to Mama" means and will give me (or anyone) the little things she picks up off the floor
-prefers markers and Caleb's toys to all of her own--so classic!
-can point to her head, eyes, nose, tummy, ears and teeth.
-will wrinkle her nose and sniff loudly if you ask her what a bunny says.
-gives little lip kisses.
-is still primarily a very happy and cheerful girl, very friendly, with a sweet personality.
As far as Maisie's physical therapy, so far she's had 3 sessions and she's doing super well! She began with a minor mid-line issue, but after I worked with her every day following her first session, just one week later that issue had resolved itself! The PT will continue to monitor it, but so far nothing more. Now we're working to strengthen her hips, hands and upper body--all related to crawling. Maisie army crawls everywhere, so we're trying to encourage a regular hands and knees crawl, or at least similar physical feats that will strengthen those same muscles. One of her "homework assignments" is to climb the stairs 2-3 times a day. She's doing better and better, and as her muscles are growing stronger, she is actually starting to crawl more and army crawl less. Maisie is also pulling herself up to standing now all the time. She's not really steady, but she's getting there. She's also starting to cruise along furniture. We're working on making her bend her legs as she sits and stands, and keeping her feet shoulder-width apart and straight ahead when standing and cruising.
