I love it when I find a well written, creative, beautifully illustrated book that teaches information. This is the story of a young lady who raises sheep, sheers the wool, cards it, turns it into yarn, dyes the wool using plants & flowers, and weaves a picture of sheep on her loom. All told with gorgeous watercolor illustrations!

While you are enjoying the pictures and the story, you end up learning about sheep, wool, and weaving. These are my favorite form of instructive books--ones that tell a delightful story, but also teach and introduce new topics. They make knowledge, learning and gaining new skills attractive!

I hope to buy this book soon for my kids. It's a keeper!
