play-do sandies

I pitched our play-do. It was old, crunchy and somewhat multi-colored. I haven't replaced it yet, and Caleb really misses it. So today I got the idea to make some cookie dough and let the kids play with it like play-do. I thought of pecan sandies, because there are no eggs in the dough. So I found a pecan sandie recipe and skipped out on the pecans and added a bit more flour to make the dough a little stiffer. It worked wonderfully! We made letters and spelled our names; we made shapes and smiley faces and Curious George and his kite. The best part was that the kids got to taste the dough while they were making their shapes, and they got to eat their creations afterwards. I have posted the recipe just to the right under 'craft corner.'
