Faces of History

For the culmination of Maddie and Caleb's co-op course, Essentials (grammar and writing), each child had to choose a person from history, write a research paper on the person, and then present their paper in costume.

Caleb chose William the Conqueror.

 And Maddie chose Katie Luther.

They both worked very hard and did a fabulous job on both their papers and their presentations. This was Caleb's first real research paper—as in reading various sources, creating a bibliography, and writing a 5-paragraph paper with intro, conclusion and three points. Maddie did an outstanding job presenting. She was the last child to present, but she held everyone's attention. Her poise impressed me! Both of them have grown this year in their presenting and writing skills. I've been so encouraged watching them be challenged, rise to the challenge, enjoy learning, grow and gain new skills. I'll be posting both of their papers next.
